Street Saviours Outreach Society
A grassroots group of volunteers patrolling Vancouver’s Downtown East Side after dark providing outreach and frontline support. All volunteers receive overdose response and naloxone training.
Outreach teams prepare and provide, food items, harm reduction supplies, naloxone kits, toques, socks, gloves, scarves, jackets, thermal blankets, and basic sanitary and personal hygiene items.
Program Highlights
Every team has trained medics providing emergency first-aid and overdose-response pending the arrival of BC Ambulance services.
Providing assistance in filling out and submitting housing applications; referrals to detox, treatment, recovery houses, and SROs; assistance and referral to emergency and cold weather shelters, free food, and community resources.
Assisting in locating missing family members in the Downtown East Side, circulating photos and contact information.
